Head Chef & Sous Chef Loved by locals, The Athens Yacht Club is a Greek/Mediterranean restaurant situated on Victoria Street in Christchurch.
We're on the lookout for our next Head Chef and Sous Chef to join our small but busy kitchen. This is a great opportunity to work with a close-knit team, grow your skills, and build on what we've created during the last 5 years.
You must have a minimum of two years experience in a similar role and should have the following attributes:
Menu planning : Designing and creating menus with new and existing dishes Kitchen management : Overseeing the food preparation, cooking, and cleaning processes Staff management : Training and managing kitchen staff. Estimating their workload and compensation Quality control : Ensuring food quality, taste, and presentation, also that all ingredients are fresh and meet quality standards Budgeting : Creating and maintaining the kitchen's budget. Managing inventory and cost control Compliance : Ensuring compliance with hygiene, health and safety regulations, and nutrition standards Customer service : Dealing with customer complaints and ensuring customer satisfaction Equipment : Planning orders for equipment and ingredients, also arranging for repairs Collaboration : Fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment We will provide a flexible and balanced roster ensuring a work/life balance, competitive pay rate, a supportive working environment, and ongoing training.
