The Business
We're all about locally brewed beers at Dunedin Social Club, which is why you will only ever find beers from around the Dunedin region on our taps. Beers, Banter and Good Times. This bustling bar in the heart of the Octagon prides itself on being the place to go for an after work beer to the place you meet your friends on a Friday night. We're fun, we're creative and we're up late!
The Role
This is a permanent Full-Time position and it requires you to set an example in the kitchen with your exemplary cooking skills. This role is ideal for an inspired, hard working individual, with a commitment to high standards.
Your main responsibilities include:
Completing ordering and stocktaking to plan and manage food costs
Create rosters and managing wage costs
Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
Discussing food preparation issues with managers, kitchen and waiting staff
Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
Preparing and cooking food to a consistently high standard
Taking ownership of the food control plan and ensuring all team members understand the cleaning standards and processes within the kitchen
Mentoring, training and development of your team to ensure they have a thorough understanding of how to complete their role
Ensure all food is prepped and portion controlled prior to service to ensure no food prep is required to be completed during service
Ensuring clear communication between the kitchen, front of house and head office
We are anticipating the role's hours to be at least 30 hours per week with a maximum of 60 hours per week.
The Pay
We're proud to offer a highly competitive pay rate of $32.00 to $34.00 per hour for this position. Skills / Experience
We are looking for an energetic, passionate and hard working candidate.
The ideal candidate will be someone with:
A passion for food and providing experiences
Strong leadership and culinary skills
Energy and enthusiasm to share with your team
Proven experience in a fast paced high end kitchen environment
NZ Register Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2), or at least three years of relevant experience
