About The Position
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Head Chef to lead the kitchen team and bring creativity to an established, beloved venue. Akaroa offers the perfect backdrop for someone looking to balance career and lifestyle, surrounded by beautiful scenery and close-knit community charm. This role provides the chance to make an impact on the local food scene and establish a strong culinary presence.
Position Description Lead and manage the kitchen team to ensure consistent quality.Oversee food preparation, presentation, and service standards.Manage stock, supplier relations, and inventory control.Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene.Mentor and develop junior kitchen staff.Position Requirements Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar senior role.Passion for locally sourced ingredients and creative menu design.Strong leadership and team-building skills.Thorough understanding of food safety regulations.Ability to work well under pressure and maintain high standards.Commitment to quality and guest satisfaction.Must be living in and be legally entitled to work in New Zealand - NZ / Aus Citizenship or NZ Permanent Residency.
