Who are we?
The Little River Inn has been a firm fixture of our community for nearly 150 years. Our Inn has been newly renovated and reinvigorated and is just 50 minutes from Christchurch. Nestled next to Lake Wairewa, our outlook is spectacular, rolling, rural scenery.
Fresh uncomplicated food is our specialty. From crisp, freshly battered fish & chips, to slow cooked Canterbury lamb shanks, complemented by our inspired taps and wines.
What we're looking for
We are looking for a Head Chef to lead and inspire our kitchen team. The successful applicant will be passionate about food and the hospitality industry and excited about creating and presenting dishes.
A minimum of 2 years' experience managing busy, high output kitchens including functions, large bookings, set menu, as well as day-to-day menu preparation. Staff training is also a key responsibility of the role.
This is absolutely a hands-on role across all sections, and one that must be inclusive of the rest of the kitchen and front of house teams. You'll have strong support from senior management.
Areas of responsibility include general upkeep of kitchen and equipment, rosters, food costs, wage control, menu preparation, and systems implementation. Maintain and update current food control plan.
