He angitutanga / The opportunity: We are currently looking for a highly skilled Head Chef to work at the NZDF-Devonport Naval Base, Auckland.
It is a Permanent full-time position.
Ko o kawenga/Your responsibilities: Manage the kitchen operations in a safe and efficient manner Ensure that all tasks associated with food production are performed with due regard for all Health and Safety and Food Safety regulations.
Prepare, cook and serve good quality food for customers Plan and control menu-based catering and functions Develop and implement staff roster Purchase and manage stock Lead and coach members of the team, manage their performance and promote team commitment and cooperation He korero mou / About you: If you're our ideal candidate; You will be hard working, have a passion for great food and a friendly outgoing personality.
You will already have at least 3 years' proven work experience in a similar chef position from either a high-end restaurant or good quality hotel with relevant leadership experience.
You will hold food safety certificates (Unit Standard 167 and 168).
You will have experience and skill in modern cuisine and producing and presenting food to a high standard and will put strong emphasis on quality, presentation while being a great communicator.
You will competently juggle multiple demands within a challenging environment.
Most importantly, you will demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality.
You will have an experience in bulk production cooking.
