Our teams work hard to produce high standard, specialty coffee, from menus created by our in-house roasters and Head Baristas. Our front of house takes pride in serving the best ingredients to our customers and local communities.Key ResponsibilitiesCoffee Preparation and Quality ControlPrepare high-quality coffee (and other) beverages consistently following company standards. Monitor and maintain coffee quality, ensuring training, product, and equipment are of optimal standard. Calibrate coffee machines and grinders daily (and throughout the day) for consistent performance.Team Leadership and TrainingLead, train, and mentor barista staff to maintain high service standards. Provide ongoing skill development, including latte art, coffee knowledge, and customer service techniques. Create and oversee barista training programs for new and existing team members. Deliver exceptional customer service, creating a welcoming environment. Address customer feedback or complaints promptly and professionally. Promote upselling and educate staff and customers on retail and menu offerings.Operations ManagementManage daily workflow and support manager with scheduling for barista staff. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar area, adhering to health and safety standards. Monitor stock levels and coordinate orders for coffee beans, milk, and other supplies.Equipment MaintenancePerform routine maintenance and cleaning of coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment. Coordinate with technicians for servicing and repairs when needed.Menu DevelopmentCollaborate with the team to develop and innovate coffee beverages or seasonal specials. Stay updated on industry trends to introduce new ideas and offerings.Reporting and AdministrationMonitor and analyze sales performance related to the coffee bar. Prepare reports on inventory usage and staff performance as required. Manage and review ordering and par levels across retail and coffee bar. Assist in budget management for the coffee bar operations. Work closely with management to align the coffee bar operations with business goals. Collaborate with the wider cafe team to ensure seamless customer experiences.ABOUT YOU:Must have at least 1-2 years experience as a senior barista.Must have experience with soft brewing techniques as this role requires recipe making and training of others.Expertise in coffee preparation and equipment maintenance.Experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment.A passion and commitment to working sustainably.Sound knowledge of coffee and a hunger to learn more.Good personal presentation and hygiene.Strong leadership and communication skills.Ability to handle pressure and solve problems.Ability to maintain a clean section.Excellent verbal communication skills.Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and customers.Above all, an unwavering commitment to customer service and hospitality.This is a full-time permanent role, guaranteeing at least 30 hours per week.
