An exciting opportunity has arisen for in an established area, for a motivated and driven Livestock rep to join our experienced and passionate Livestock Sales team in the Canterbury Region, working throughout the Ellesmere area.
As Head Auctioneer you will play a vital role in the success of our weekly and seasonal sales. You will be the key contact and 'agent in charge', while also running the auction and ensuring the best service and value for our clients and PGW. You will be responsible for managing existing and new client relationships in the area and building up a strong client base. One of your key focuses will be building relationships within the region, through the support of the Regional Livestock Manager and local colleagues. You will have a keen interest and passion for the local agricultural sector and must have the ability to relate well to both colleagues and clients.
You will be focused on working within a very strong farming district servicing sheep and beef and dairy clients. The nature of this role is very autonomous, so time management, planning, organisational skills and administrative experience are essential.
Duties and responsibilities: Marketing and sales of livestock services to existing and potential clientsMaintain and grow the client base in your area through strong business relationshipsPlanning and self-management of workRegular travel within the wider regionSkills and experience: At least 5 years' experience in the industry, or broader Livestock IndustryProven auctioneering skills and experienceAbility to build lasting professional relationships; sales experience is an advantageExcellent oral and written communication skillsComputer/tablet literacy and administration skillsA full, current, clean New Zealand driver licence is essentialWe are committed to growing our employees and we develop leadership and technical expertise at all levels of our company.
