As a Hazard and Risk Management Scientist, you will contribute to social science research across a variety of natural hazard and risk science areas using qualitative and/or quantitative methods. You will communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to develop projects and products that help strengthen societal resilience to natural hazards.ResponsibilitiesYour primary responsibilities will be to:Design and carry out social science research related to natural hazards and risksSupport development of products to communicate science adviceContribute to management of research project delivery, teams, and budgetsEngage with stakeholders and communitiesAbout youThe ideal candidate will have:Expertise in social science methods and theoriesEarth science and/or emergency management experienceWhy work for GNS Science?Our work helps New Zealanders understand and address climate change, find and use greener energy and better manage the impacts of natural disasters on their homes and communities.People come from all over the world to work for GNS Science.
