He angitutanga: The opportunityAuckland Council's Health, Safety & Wellbeing Team is excited to offer a 12-month fixed-term opportunity to join our close-knit team as a Hauora Wellbeing Advisor | Kaitiaki Hinengaro Hauora.As the largest city council in Aotearoa, we face unique challenges and responsibilities.
Our kaimahi work across many locations and provide services to diverse communities throughout the region.This role offers the chance to be part of a journey with a dynamic and fast-paced business unit, supporting and enhancing wellbeing by embedding hauora at the heart of our organisational culture.
You will directly support kaimahi in this unit—including frontline staff and people leaders—who are often exposed to potential harm from critical incidents, significant change, or ongoing crises.Your mission: to protect, nurture, and restore the mental health of our kaimahi as they carry out their vital work.He korero mou: About youYou will be an exceptional relationship builder with the highest level of resilience, compassion and ability to work in a large and complex organisation.We will be looking for specific experience with:A relevant tertiary degree in social work or psychology or equivalent of lived work experience.5 years' experience of working in Mental Health & Wellbeing, counselling or related field.Strong understanding of Te Ao Maori, with the ability to use te reo Maori, tikanga, and matauranga Maori to communicate and inform wellbeing practice.Nga ahuatanga kei a matou: What we offerIn return for your hard mahi, you can expect a flexible and supportive work environment.You'll also have access to a range of fantastic Auckland Council benefits, including discounted Leisure Centre membership and a range of other partnership discounts.Our employer Kiwisaver contribution is additional to base salary offered, and you are entitled to leave immediately rather than after 12 months service.Ehara taku toa, he takitahi, he toa takitini.
