Harvest Team Leader

Are you interested in horticulture and ready to take on a leadership role? We're looking for dedicated Team Leaders to join our team this season! Key Responsibilities: Preparation: Set up equipment before picker arrival, conduct daily safety toolbox meetings, and allocate work areas. Quality Assurance: Regularly check the quality of picked fruit, provide instructions for ripe and undamaged picking, and give prompt feedback to pickers. Safety: Prioritize safety by monitoring hazards, ensuring PPE use, enforcing ladder safety, and being familiar with emergency procedures. Team Management: Clearly communicate expectations, monitor picker progress, motivate the team, and handle fast-paced situations effectively. Fruit Collection: Supervise bucket collection, verify correct bin labeling, and ensure gentle handling of the harvest. Communication: Maintain contact with supervisors and foreman, report issues to the Orchard Manager, and keep pickers informed of changes. End-of-Day Procedures: Ensure all fruit buckets are collected, oversee picker clock-in/out for payroll, and plan for the next day. Requirements: Experience in orchard operations or horticulture. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to manage a diverse team in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to quality and safety.
