We are seeking a Handyman/Farm Assistant to assist with general maintenance on our berry farm in Riverhead, Auckland. You will apply your skills and knowledge to a wide variety of tasks across all areas of the farm. As such, you must have previous experience with farm irrigation practices, fertigating methods, spray applications and fruit harvesting techniques. This is a full time, permanent position with an approximate start date of September 2024. Our farm is now one of Auckland's top tourist attractions for families, offering pick your own berries, an adventure park, splash park and café. Key Responsibilities: Maintain the safety, repair and appearance of buildings, equipment, facilities and grounds. Maintain a tidy workshop along with consistent recording of all stocks, oils and other materials used. Complete various small/medium building jobs on site, including minor repair works, measuring, cutting, use of power tools. Regular lawn mowing and weed eating Assist the Field Supervisor with irrigation and pipe maintenance, field operations, spray applications, transport of harvested fruit, and maintenance of tunnel house structures. Requirements: At least 3 years experience in building, maintenance or construction At least 1 years experience with farm practices, including spray applications and fruit harvesting techniques Reliable and has the ability to self-coordinate Responsible and Health & Safety conscious Tractor driving experience Excellent communication skills Forklift licence is an advantage but not essential To be considered for this role you must have the legal right to work in NZ.
