Extrastaff are seeking hammerhands or 1st / 2nd year apprentices to join their talented, dynamic team of close-knit tradespeople.

Extrastaff are seeking a hardworking 1st or 2nd year apprentice or experienced hammerhand for one of our clients in Christchurch, who specialise in residential housing projects. You must have done a pre-trade course or similar, and have some exposure to working on site even if not towards your apprenticeship. Hammerhands with the right attitude and skillset will similarly be considered. You will be clean cut, reliable, and motivated with a clear MOJ and the ability to pass a Drug & Alcohol test.

What you will be doing:

Assisting carpenters and builders on various tasks on-site

Working on residential housing projects

Operating hand and power tools

Handling and moving materials as required

Maintain a clean and organised work area

What you will bring to the table:

A positive, can-do attitude

Experience with hand/power tools

On-site experience either as a hammerhand or apprentice

Have completed a pre-trade course or similar and/or some on-site work

You'll take pride in your appearance, with a hunger to succeed

Be reliable with a great attitude

Must hold at a minimum a restricted licence and own transport to and from the job (learner licences and no licence will NOT be considered)

Can pass a pre-employment D&A test

Clean MOJ

Some of your own tools would be beneficial too, but we can help you get off the ground!
