New Plymouth Girls' High School TaranakiGuidance Counsellor, Social Worker or Educational PsychologistFull time, PermanentSecondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacherEnglish, Health and Physical Education, Learning Languages, Mathematics and Statistics, Science, Social Sciences, Technology, Te Reo Maori, The ArtsNew Plymouth Girls' High School is seeking a skilled and compassionate guidance counsellor, social worker, educational psychologist or similar, with a relevant tertiary qualification to provide wellbeing support to students.The role is based in our dedicated Wai Ora Centre, where you will collaborate with a small team of experienced health professionals to support the wellbeing of students from Y9 to 13.We welcome applications from individuals seeking either full-time or part-time hours.The ideal candidate will:Be organised, empathetic and a great communicator.Have experience of working with adolescents in a school or other relevant setting.Demonstrate cultural awareness and engage effectively within the community.Work collaboratively with the Wai Ora team and the wider school.Have strong professional boundaries and understandings of risk in a school setting.Have the ability to work individually and as part of a team.New Zealand teacher registration is an advantage, but not essential.Membership of a recognised professional body.Experience of dealing with young people.As a school community, we provide a caring and inclusive teaching and learning environment, with a strong pastoral support system.
