Kia ora! Air New Zealand's GSE (Ground Support Equipment) & Tooling division plays a significant part in contributing to the achievement of Air New Zealand's commercial and operational goals through On Time Performance, Safety, and Operational Excellence. Our primary purpose is to ensure the safety of our people and environment. We have a 12-month fixed term or secondment opportunity for a skilled practitioner to join our team based in Auckland or Christchurch. You will help us deliver on varied and strategically important projects across our Ground Support Equipment and Aircraft Tooling portfolio. This is a dynamic role, with significant opportunity to engage with a wide cross section of the organisation, as well as external suppliers daily. You will lead and manage significant improvement projects and programmes to ensure strategic initiatives can be achieved on-time, on budget and right-first time to the operation. You will develop a close working relationship with programme stakeholders to ensure effective communication paths are maintained and clear understanding of outcomes is achieved. You will develop in-depth project plans and proactively manage potential risks, issues, interdependencies, scope changes and budgets and facilitate and enforce project management methodologies across all streams to ensure best practice is implemented and projects can deliver on requirements. To be successful in this role: You will ideally have operational experience and a high degree of business awareness and ability to identify with the company vision and delivery of company strategic direction. You will also have: Ability to influence at all levels including senior management Ability to work with commercially sensitive and confidential information exercising discretion Experience in managing significant projects and delivering change management in a complex, highly regulated environment Working knowledge of process improvement disciplines and practices Ability to lead and facilitate meetings and identify key stakeholders Influential communicator and strongly results focused Thrive in an environment of ambiguity and have an interest in safety management. Proven experience in delivering and managing projects is essential. This role requires effective time management to prioritise and meet deadlines, strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
