We are seeking a motivated and organised Group Manager, Regulatoryand Compliance to oversee the compliance functions within the department. Thisrole reports directly to the Chief Executive, requiring a strategic andoperational focus. Key responsibilities include: Lead the Regulatory and Compliance Group Actively contribute to Annual Plan, and LongTerm Plan, processes including operational and capital expenditure budgets Ensure all aspects of the regulatory andcompliance group comply with relevant Acts/Regulations, and national/regionalstandards, policies and codes Ensure the Environmental Health and ComplianceOfficers carry out their duties as per relevant Act Direct responsibility for functions in thePlanning, Building Control, Environmental Health, Liquor Licensing, AnimalControl and Compliance You will have: A Post Graduate Degree/Degree in a relevantsubject area (Environmental Health / Health Sciences would be an advantage) A sound knowledge of the RMA, building industrylegislation, policies and procedures Good understanding of Council regulatoryresponsibilities, e.g. alcohol licensing, animal control and environmentalhealth Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role ordemonstrated capacity through a related role to perform the functions of thisrole with minimal training Proven experience in the development and reviewof bylaws/policies (or equivalent) A high level of computer literacy with softwareproficiency covering a variety of applications An understanding of the Council environment, andan appreciation for the political and sensitive nature of Local Government Willingness to become a Local Controller forWestland Emergency Operations Centre (desirable, but not essential).
