About the role We now have an exciting leadership opportunity in the Community Development team leading the Environmental Science team based throughout New Zealand.
In more detail the role involves: Work with the NZ CD Regional Director and team to create short, medium, and long-term plans.
Achieve or surpass business goals for the Environmental Science Team.
Grow and develop the team, ensuring a good mix of qualified and experienced staff.
Address the personal development needs of all team members.
Collaborate with senior staff and others to maintain a leading, sustainable business.
Lead business development activities for the group.
Align local business development strategies with national goals.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients for repeat business.
To be successful in this role you will be: A recognised leader in the industry with 12+ years of experience—someone who leads from the front, is resilient, and works hands-on to ensure we deliver excellent outcomes for our clients.
It goes without saying that you will have strong commercial and business acumen combined with an inclusive and proactive leadership style.
Along with your leadership experience, you will be highly connected within the Environmental Science sector, and experience in achieving agreed revenue, profit, and utilisation targets through delivery of complete and accurate work on time and to budget is crucial as well as achieving agreed business development goals through optimum utilisation of group and company resources.

About you You'll be professionally qualified in a relevant field (ecology, hydrogeology, contaminated land or water quality), membership of the relevant professional body and a minimum of 12 years' relevant experience.
You will be able to provide direction and vision in the business unit and be a competent leader, capable of defining and communicating the vision and values of the organisation and business unit.
You will also have the skills to relate to and manage all levels of staff.
In addition, your sound client relationship and negotiation skills and ability to manage customer satisfaction are essential, together with demonstrated knowledge of business and project finances and systems, and sound commercial skills.
