Our client is seeking a Group Financial Controller to mentor and lead the finance team.

About the Company…
The company is based in the horticulture sector with its head office situated here with sites the length and breadth of the country. They also have operations based globally with subsidiaries based in Australia and the US.
They have grown from humble beginnings to become a major supplier of numerous varieties of produce both locally and internationally.

About the role…
The role reports to the CFO and is responsible for leading and mentoring the finance team, ensuring the timely production of financial results.
On top of the business as usual, there are several key transformational projects that need to be undertaken, working on improving systems and processes with the aim to streamline the workflows both within the finance team and the wider business. This role will lead these projects ensuring engagement from all stakeholders.
Key responsibilities will include:
Preparation of the consolidated accounts
Production of management information for the CFO, CEO, Leadership Team and Board, including board papers
Overseeing month end process, providing commentary when required
Ensuring all compliance functions are completed
Preparation of end of year financial statements
Overseeing and key liaison for external audits
Preparation of all budgets and forecasts, including cashflow forecasting
Analysis of management accounts, P&L, balance sheets
Providing commercial support to the Leadership Team and wider business, enabling them to understand the numbers
You will also be required to work with key stakeholders across the business to implement process improvements and system consolidations.

About You…
This is a dynamic role with tangible opportunities for growth and development. Ideally you will have the following:
Be CA qualified or equivalent
5 plus years' experience in a similar level role
Strong management/ leadership skills and experience
Strong analytical skills
Background in both Financial and Management Accounting
Business process improvement experience
Change management experience
Understanding of Import/ Export would be an advantage
Strong systems skills, including advanced Excel
One of the key skills will be the ability to effectively influence both up and down and foster a successful, results driven finance function.
