Groundskeeper and Maintenance Supervisor Lynfield College is seeking a results-focused, energetic, and friendly person with experience in groundskeeping and property maintenance to work as part of a top performing team committed to providing a safe, attractive and well-maintained environment that promotes student wellbeing and engagement at all times. This role involves leading and managing the daily maintenance of grounds, gardens and school buildings, along with equipment, vehicles and furnishings. A proven work ethic, motivation, flexibility, the ability to work independently and the physical fitness to complete required tasks will be needed. In line with the requirements outlined in the Caretaker of School Caretakers', Cleaners', Canteen and Ground Staff Collective Agreement for Grade Two Caretakers (3.1.3), the Groundskeeper and Maintenance Supervisor will have the ability to independently undertake school maintenance work (in addition to minor maintenance work) which they are legally able to undertake and which would normally be undertaken by a registered or qualified tradesperson, in accordance with decisions made by the Principal, Business Manager and School Board. They will also demonstrate a highly effective ability to manage and complete small-scale projects, ensuring all tasks are executed efficiently, on time, within budget (if applicable) and to a high standard. Essential for success in this position will be good presentation, strong communication and IT skills and the ability to maintain positive, professional relationships with external agencies and tradespersons. Adherence to personal safety procedures (as per school and Health and Safety policies), and the Staff Code of Conduct. A high level of trust and privacy around school activities and information is expected.
