As a trusted partner of the Auckland District Council, we proudly care for the region's parks, playgrounds, gardens, infrastructure, and public spaces, helping to make Auckland a wonderful place to live and visit. To uphold our commitment to keeping Auckland pristine, we're looking for dedicated Grounds Workers to join our Auckland Horticulture team!
The RoleOur Grounds Workers are versatile and skilled professionals who handle a wide range of tasks. From planting to weed eating, our Grounds Workers do it all! Here's a glimpse of what your day-to-day activities might include:
Maintaining soft and hard landscaping surfacesPruning, planting, and weedingHedge trimming and weed eatingLitter management as neededWhat Are We Looking For?While practical experience in horticulture is ideal, it's not a must. If you have a great work ethic and a passion for working outdoors, you could be the perfect fit! Here are some qualities we value:
A current, full Class 1 driver's licence with the ability to drive a manualA good level of fitness, as the role can be physically demandingA team player with a positive attitude who naturally helps out teammatesExcellent relationship-building and communication skillsHigh motivation and a strong desire to get the job doneThe ability to use a smartphone and other technology is advantageousWhat We Can Offer YouAs part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work with other professionals, gain further knowledge and experience, and develop your career in horticulture. We offer regular work hours, a performance-based salary that is reviewed annually, and a $300 wellness benefit. You'll also receive an annual tool allowance and work phone.
