The Ground Service Equipment (GSE) Maintenance Technician is a key role in the Swissport Australasia operational support team responsible for coordinating the maintenance, administration, and oversight of the organisation's airport ground support equipment (GSE) fleet.
The role is responsible to provide high quality and responsive fleet support to the organisation through the provision of asset maintenance planning, delivery and reporting associated with both insourced and outsourced plant & equipment maintenance.
You will work closely with the Head of Fleet and Airport Managers to ensure effective operations of GSE throughout the network.

End-to-end coordination of Swissport GSE fleet including:
Coordinate fleet maintenance planning and delivery, including management of internal and external maintenance providers performance and service levels;
Manage internal technicians, ensuring productivity and efficiency levels are maintained;
Fleet and other plant and equipment planning, maintenance, monitoring and reporting;
Fleet total cost of ownership;
Support the development and implementation of fleet strategy, policies and guidelines aligned to Swissport Global Fleet priorities and operational requirements;
Fleet compliance and safety planning, execution, monitoring and reporting;
Fleet performance, reporting, business improvement and best practice projects;
Develop, implement and monitor strategies and tactical programs to maximise fleet productivity and efficiency;
Monitor, review and provide decision support to complex and high value fleet repairs and modification and improvement programs;
Develop, implement and monitor systems for the safe and secure operation of all equipment;
Raising of Corrective Maintenance Work Orders, as appropriate;
Approve or create purchase orders for consumables and other key expense items (as required).
Your profile/ Kotaha Matawhaiaro
Extensive experience in heavy vehicle and/or plant & equipment fleet management including lifecycle costing, through life support strategies, parts and supplier management;
Thorough knowledge of Aviation industry particularly relating to ground support equipment operation and maintenance; (preferred);
Strong mechanical aptitude with an understanding of equipment design and operation (mechanical, automotive or plant trade qualification highly regarded);
Extensive experience with CMMS's (e.g. Maximo, etc.);
Contract and supplier management experience in areas of plant and equipment maintenance;
Excellent time management, organisation skills and problem solving skills with the ability to manage a changing workload;
Commercially focused with experience in a results driven environment;
Strong analytical and judgment skills;
Extensive experience in management of internal and external fleet maintenance providers;
Advanced proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suit with the ability to develop proficiency in using company IT systems;
High level verbal reasoning, communication and interpersonal skills with the aptitude to be able to lead, direct, coach, develop and motivate a team and/or key stakeholders;
Ability to work with minimal direction, displaying initiative and motivation.
