We do this by designing, coordinating and delivering services that bring innovation and greater effectiveness to health and social programmes.NHC is a Maori-led and culturally driven organisation that supports solutions for all whanau, especially those communities that are not well served by existing services.The role:The Mana Kidz Registered Nurse will lead the delivery of comprehensive school and community-based primary health care services in their allocated South Auckland schools, driving Rheumatic Fever prevention, whanau uptake of immunisations and delivering a wide range of other child health assessments, interventions, referrals, and health promotion according to the need of tamariki and their whanau. This forms an important part of primary care services to meet needs.The role aims to ensure that children have the best start in life by delivering nurse-led care focused on reducing the health equity gap experienced by Maori and Pacific tamariki and their whanau. The Mana Kidz Registered Nurse will work as part of a wider school-based team including the Mana Kidz provider network, school leaders, Social Worker in School (SWiS), and other health and education professionals. The Mana Kidz Registered Nurse will also work collaboratively with school and community programmes to help achieve equitable health and social outcomes for children.In addition to this, the Mana Kidz Registered Nurse is expected to build and maintain strong relationships with tamariki, whanau, and the wider school community, identifying and working towards collective goals to achieve better wellbeing outcomes.About you:We are looking for a new graduate nurse who is passionate about working with tamariki and whanau in the South Auckland area and is wanting an opportunity to work in community/primary care. No post-graduate experience is required, and you will be supported by our Mana Kidz management team into the role through a comprehensive orientation and support programme.You will be well presented, professional, approachable, a team-player and confident working with others. Empathy and a passion for delivering the best possible outcomes to Maori and Pasifika communities will be at the forefront of what drives you.Some travel around Auckland is required although the bulk of the schools will be in South Auckland down to as far as Port Waikato.
