Graduate Local Purchaser/Buyer

We are looking for a graduate Local Buyer/Purchaser to join our team. Our business involves the importation and distribution of a wide range of food products to both wholesale and retail customers. We have over 400 staff and are 100% NZ owned! You will be responsible for working with our purchasing team and will have an excellent eye for detail. Your work will involve placing orders with key suppliers, following up on those orders and keeping track of stock levels. You will also deal with our sales team and enquiries around product availability and sourcing new products. The successful applicant will have: A tertiary qualification with a degree in food technology or similar – eg chemistry, engineering, mathematics, business Good keyboard speed with a high level of accuracy is critical; Attention to detail and rapid problem solving skills; Strong and clear communication skills; A willingness to learn and take on various tasks as required; The ability to effectively organise and manage their time; A fantastic attitude and be willing to work as part of a close team In return for your enthusiasm and career focus, you will receive a good market salary and the opportunity to work with a great team and a growing NZ owned company with vision and drive!
