The Far North District Council is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our community through sustainable and innovative infrastructure solutions.
Our Infrastructure Group plays a pivotal role in planning, designing, and implementing projects that support the growth and development of our region.
Te Wero - The Challenge To support the Infrastructure Group to facilitate the planning, development, and execution of infrastructure projects throughout the Far North District, ensuring these initiatives are effectively managed from conception to completion.
This includes coordinating with various stakeholders, securing necessary approvals, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of essential facilities and services.
The goal is to enhance the district's infrastructure to meet current and future needs, promoting sustainable growth and improving the quality of life for residents.
The ideal candidate should possess: Educational Background : A Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or a closely related field.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities : Demonstrated strength in analysing complex data and developing effective solutions.
Technical Proficiency : Expertise in Geographic Information System (GIS) software, such as ArcGIS, along with other relevant planning tools.
Communication Skills : Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, enabling clear and effective interaction with diverse stakeholders.
Teamwork and Independence : Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Attention to Detail and Organisational Skills : A meticulous approach to tasks, coupled with strong organisational capabilities to manage multiple projects efficiently.
Knowledge of Local Government Processes : Familiarity with local government procedures and regulations is advantageous.

The salary for this position is Grade 14 within Council's salary structure (Band: $69,616 to $81,901 pro rata per annum) dependent on qualifications and experience, plus Kiwi Saver.
