The Opportunity: Our Financial Services audit team work with some of the largest financial services providers in New Zealand including Banks, Insurance Companies, and Funds/KiwiSaver providers.

This role offers the opportunity to work with larger and more dynamic clients, broadening your professional experience.Day to day you will:Assist senior team members and managers in the performance of audit assignments as a team member.
The work may involve complex technical issues , statutory audits, internal audits, investigation and acquisition reports of an audit nature, limited reviews, proposals and special reports, and other accounting services.Assist in the planning, execution and finalisation of areas of the audit assignment for review.Produce work for the Manager or Partner review clearly highlighting issues and providing potential solutions to issues identified.Management of client deliverables, including attendance at meetings.Undertake strategic analysis.Identify business and audit risks.Assess effectiveness of client processes and controls.Perform higher risk audit functions.Assist in coaching junior team members.Ensure effective use and application of KPMG Audit Manual/Methodology, auditing standards, and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).What you'll bring to our team:At least one year of relevant practical audit experience in an Audit Firm, preferably within Big 4 or mid-tier environment.A degree in relevant subjects, , Accounting, Finance, or Economics which meet CAANZ requirements.You may be a provisional member of a relevant professional body, , Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA).The ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships with clientsDemonstrate strong foundational and/or technical proficiency across audit and audit related servicesStrong written and verbal communication skills preferred.Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning and independently solving problems.Experience in coaching/mentoring junior staff is ideal.Professional approach to work.
