The administration role is based at a busy medical centre in Huyton servicing 4000 patients.To provide an efficient and helpful receptionist service to the Practice and ensure that Practice data is collected, stored, maintained, and retrieved effectively while continually providing patient confidentiality.Main Duties of the JobReception and routing of patients on arrivalAnswering general enquiries, explaining surgery procedures, making new and follow-up appointments and generally advising patients on non-clinical mattersUse computerised appointment system as per trainingSorting and distributing incoming mailEnsure Doctor/Nurse patient call system is in working orderRecord requests for home visitsEnsuring an adequate supply of stationary in the consulting rooms and reception areaReceiving samples, logging and ensuring the correct forms accompany them to the laboratoryReceiving and recording telephone messages for the Doctor/Nurse/Health VisitorBooking ambulances for patient hospital appointments or admissionsTaking requests for repeat prescriptions and preparing them on the computer for collectionDealing appropriately with outgoing mailLiaison with hospitals, primary health care team, community services, and social servicesEnsuring that the reception area is left tidy and ready for use by incoming colleagues together with any information about unresolved or urgent mattersCover other members of staff during holiday or sick leaveAny other work deemed necessary by the Doctor/Practice Manager to fulfil the role of Medical ReceptionistThe job description is not intended to be exhaustive but to indicate the main areas of responsibility.About UsWe are based on Longview Drive, in the Heart of Huyton and the practice serves approximately 4000 patients.
