Mo tenei turanga mahi | About this role As the Governance Services Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting Council's governance processes, ensuring that the community has timely access to information and facilitating efficient meeting services for effective decision-making.
You will work closely with the Governance Services Lead to provide high-quality governance meeting services (including the production of minutes), advice, and support to Council, its Committees, Sub-Committees, and Community Boards.
Your responsibilities will include: Building and maintaining positive relationships with elected members and colleagues.
Ensuring that relevant statutes, Standing Orders, and the Code of Conduct are applied correctly to decision-making processes.
Supporting the implementation and improvement of governance policy and practices to formalise decisions and guide Council processes.
He aha taau e kawe mai | What you'll bring The preferred candidate will have: Relevant Qualifications and Experience: A tertiary qualification (diploma level) or relevant experience in governance processes.
At least 3 years of experience in a governance support role within the public or private sector, with proficiency in capturing and preparing high-quality governance meeting minutes.
Governance Knowledge: A working knowledge of relevant local government legislation, policies, and procedures.
Relationship Building and Communication Skills: Proven ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Organisational and Planning Skills: Excellent planning and organisational skills with a strong attention to detail.

Utu a-tau | Salary The salary for this position will commence between $64,402 and $75,768 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
