From humble beginnings, we've built a company to be proud of!As a Glove and Barrier Line Mechanic with Northpower, you will be supporting the construction, maintenance, upgrade and repair of the electrical lines to customers and networks. We have 3 positions based in Whangarei and 1 in Maungaturoto.Duties will include:Ensuring the construction and maintenance of electrical lines to customers and networks.Developing work plans for the construction and servicing of overhead electricity lines and equipment.Operating ground and structure mounted electrical equipment associated with electric lines up to 33kv.Overhauling non-load bearing pole hardware in electrical networks up to 110kv.Installing and replacing electricity network pole structure and overhead conductors.What's in it for you: You'll be working for an organisation that puts its people first and values growth and development. You will have great verbal and written communication skills, and a willingness to be part of a team with a 'can do' attitude.You will need to demonstrate the following:A strong commitment to health and safety.NZ Drivers licence - Class 2 is desirable.National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Line Mechanic Distribution) (Level 4) required.National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Line Mechanic Distribution Live Work Glove and Barrier up to 33kV) (Level 5) required.Prior industry experience/ Glove and Barrier work.Experience working on lines up to 33kv.About us: Northpower is an electricity and fibre network provider for Whangarei and Kaipara, with more than 60,000 connected customers.We are one of the largest multi-utility contractors in New Zealand, servicing the needs of clients in transmission, distribution, generation, fibre, renewables, and commercial sectors.
