The Role We are seeking a Global Regulatory Affairs Manager to join our dynamic team and help drive our global business development strategy.
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our products comply with regulatory requirements across multiple regions.
You will also navigate complex regulatory landscapes, manage regulatory submissions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product development and overseas market access.
You will bring your strategic leadership experience to lead and mentor a high-performing global regulatory team based in two geographies, focusing on fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and excellence in execution.
The main responsibilities of this role include: Formulate and execute regulatory strategies for product approvals, regulatory submissions, and compliance for dairy and infant formula products in Australia, New Zealand, China, and other key markets.
Proactively identify and address potential regulatory challenges.
Provide regulatory expertise and guidance into cross-functional projects to ensure regulatory requirements, risks, and opportunities are identified, understood, and integrated into product development and business strategies.
Oversee the resolution of complex regulatory issues and challenges.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address potential regulatory hurdles.
Develop and maintain strong external relationships within the regulatory environment both in NZ and internationally, with a focus on infant nutrition and dairy ingredients.

Skills and Experience To be considered for this role, you will require: Minimum 7 years in progressively responsible regulatory affairs positions, preferably within the food or dairy industries, with a minimum of 2 years in people leadership roles preferred.
Strong experience in developing and executing regulatory strategies and participating in cross-functional project teams.
Strong foundation in international/export requirements, preferably for dairy and infant formula.
Excellent knowledge and experience working within Australia/New Zealand regulatory frameworks and interpretation and application of relevant acts, regulations, and guidelines.
Relevant knowledge and experience in the application of other global regulatory frameworks, with notable prior experience with China GACC, SAMR, China Cross Border E-Commerce, and USFDA NIFN processes an advantage.
Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate with regulatory authorities and senior stakeholders.
Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and risk management.
Prior experience in accessing, interpreting, and applying global dairy and infant formula regulatory requirements in an NPD project environment.
A degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Pharmaceuticals, Law, or a related field would be an advantage.
