Working between both the Macraes mine and the Dunedin office, this role will manage geospatial data, create maps, and utilise Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tools to help optimise operations across site.Key Tasks and Responsibilities:Maintain and improve the storage, access and utilisation of geospatial data, ideally using MapInfo Discover software.Create and/or import new and updated data into the GIS system, incorporating data validation processes.Produce maps, plans and cross-sections from the GIS or other software as required.Liaise with other departments and consultants for specific GIS data and plan requests in a timely manner.Documentation of GIS Data layers.Assist and train other users of GIS data in the use of MapInfo Discover software (or alternative) where needed.Maintain and develop in-house GIS data.Assist in producing figures for regular and annual technical reporting as required, including NZPAM and WorkSafe.QualificationsFull and Current Driver Licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred.GIS qualification would be an advantage.A geology degree would be an advantage.Postgraduate diploma in computing/GIS would be an advantage.Experience:At least 5 years utilising and maintaining GIS data.Experience with MapInfo Discover preferred but experience with other GIS packages will be considered.Geology, Exploration, and Environmental experience would be highly regarded.Additional InformationWork for New Zealand's largest gold mine.Split location role (Macraes mine and Dunedin office).Free Southern Cross Healthcare.OGC VALUES: CARE | RESPECT | INTEGRITY | PERFORMANCE | TEAMWORKOceanaGold is committed to providing equal employment opportunities.If you share the same values and have what we are looking for, please apply online now via our careers website:https://careers.oceanagold.com/jobsApplications close 4 January 2025.
