It's an exciting time to be involved in football! It is a global game and is one of the largest team participation sports in the country, providing experiences and opportunities for all. In Southland we have seen huge growth in both junior and women's football, and after the Women's World Cup in NZ in 2023, this growth is set to continue.
Southland Football is seeking a well-organised and motivated person to take on the role of Girls & Women's Football Development Officer. This position will report to the Development & Operations Manager and be responsible for implementing initiatives that maximise the participation and development of players and coaches across all levels of football in the region.
As the successful candidate you will be a strong communicator with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with staff, clubs, funders, governing bodies and other key stakeholders, in particular primary schools.
Other responsibilities include:
Designing and delivering skills coaching and development initiatives
Work with schools throughout Southland to develop football
Supporting clubs to provide a high-quality service to their members
Administration duties such as competition management, managing the turf calendar and organising events
Social media marketing and promotion.
You will be passionate about Football and have a sound knowledge of the game. The ability to build and maintain relationships is key for this position, you must be comfortable getting out into the community to grow the game. As there is a portion of administration work involved with this role, you will need to be competent on a computer and familiar with social media.
This is a full-time role, with some flexibility to work the odd weekend as required. A fantastic opportunity to share your Football skills and knowledge to grow the future generations of Football Stars.
