Details of the offer

Ko wai m atou - About us :
Hato Hone St John has been serving New Zealanders and working to save lives since 1885. As well as providing Ambulance Services, our programmes and team of over 11,000 staff and volunteers are helping to build strong, resilient communities across the motu; supporting everyone in Aotearoa to live healthier, happier and longer lives.
He aha te turanga - About the role:
Be part of nurturing appreciation of St John as a pathway for life legacy and honouring the donor's wishes as guardians of their gift, while staying aligned with our values and organisational needs.
The Gifts in Wills team has an exciting opportunity for a confident, competent, multi-disciplined, and multi-tasking coordinator to join them. This national role will take responsibility for coordinating communications and administration of Estates, liaising with external parties including lawyers, family, executor of the Will, and others, and representing the interests of St John for the Northern, Central, and South Island regions.
You will take part in strengthening the relationships with next of kin/solicitors/trustees – as we genuinely want to know people and thank them for their meaningful legacy to the community and enhance their experience of working with St John through collaboration and acknowledgment.
Work together with law firms to receive, process, and finalise Estates requests in a professional and timely manner as well as promote the Gift in Wills programme.
Collaborate with the wider Fundraising team, Finance and Community Engagement, Operations, Legal and other appropriate St John stakeholders in stewarding the gifts, honouring the legacy, and acknowledging the family/friends of the Estate.
Liaise closely with Area Committees to advise them on bequest payments and optimise apportionments to specific projects and programmes as determined by terms of the Will and/or St John apportionment policy.
Ensure that information and monitoring aspects of Estates are consistent with the overall Gifts in Wills programme and audit requirements.
Ko wai koe - About you:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous experience and success in a coordinator or similar role would be preferred.
Previous experience as a Legal Administrator/Legal Secretary/Legal Assistant/Trustee Administrator or similar role would be advantageous.
Familiarity with the Family Protection and/or Trusts Act would be advantageous.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail whilst being able to multi-task in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
A quick learner who can pick up a variety of functions, products, and services across the wider organisation.
A team player who is reliable, flexible, adaptable, and willing to assist other staff members.
We can consider your application, should you be in another industry and are interested in joining the non-profit, have a can-do attitude, possess transferable skills for fundraising, and have a passion for working with people in the community. Tell us why you want to join St John!
