Gifted and Talented Kaiako / Principal Release Part-time, Fixed term, FTTE up to: 0.1, Start Date: 03/02/2025, End Date: 08/12/2025 (Roll fluctuation)
Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher
Subjects: English, Health and Physical Education, Learning Languages, Mathematics and Statistics, Science, Social Sciences, Technology, Te Reo Maori, The Arts
Are you an outstanding teacher excited about working with kids with high potential to achieve extraordinary things? Do you have the ability to quickly form high-quality relationships?
Using your extensive knowledge combined with NZCGE's provided curriculum, you will work with a mixed-age group of learners from local schools to deliver a learning experience that engages students.
Porirua Montessori is on a mission to ensure all tamariki can access quality education, regardless of their parents' income, and in a way that respects their cultural identity.
We're looking for a terrific kaiako to join our team one morning or afternoon a week (negotiable) teaching tamariki from local kura.
There is also a possible opportunity for more teaching hours doing Principal release in the Montessori classroom.
This role is initially fixed-term until the end of 2025.

Can think on their feet and improvise
Enjoys differentiating learning for diverse students
Works collaboratively as part of a team
Is well organised
Is able to uphold the Montessori kaupapa
You will be supported with a specialist curriculum from NZCGE, who have 25+ years providing gifted education in Aotearoa.
You will need a current NZ Practising Certificate (full 1 or 2).
