Job DescriptionThe role involves providing technical governance and support in Geotechnical and Hydrogeological areas, leading field programs, implementing innovative solutions, managing risks, preparing project scopes, and mentoring teams to ensure best practice in ground control management and successful project execution.Some key accountabilities:Managing Geotechnical Engineering functions in relation to design assessments for operations sites where required.Ensuring that all site Geotechnical and Hydrogeological models are maintained and updated annually.Conducting routine site visits and inspections to ensure ground control management plans are implemented to a high standard.Ability to develop and/or peer review Geotechnical stability models (2D & 3D) from Operations or Consultants.QualificationsDegree in Geotechnical Engineering or similar.15+ years experience in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering with practical experience in a similar role.Demonstrated experience in a leadership role within a technical environment.Experience across commodities and mining-based projects and execution (preferred but not necessary).Proven experience delivering best practice Geotechnical advice, with a track record of interfacing with and influencing Operational and Study teams across all business functions.Understanding of basic financial metrics and budgeting tools including relevant Geotechnical software packages.Demonstrated experience in risk management techniques and critical controls.Additional InformationCompetitive salary + benefits.Access to OceanaGold Employee Assistance Program (EAP).Global Gold Mining Company.OGC VALUES: CARE | RESPECT | INTEGRITY | PERFORMANCE | TEAMWORKOceanaGold is committed to providing equal employment opportunities.If you share the same values and have what we are looking for, please apply online now via our careers website:https://careers.smartrecruiters.com/OceanaGoldShortlisting will commence immediately.
