Korero mo te turanga - About the role

We are seeking highly motivated Geospatial Specialists to join our team for 6 months. This fixed term role will run until 27 June 2025. You will need to be proficient in the use of ArcGIS and desktop GIS.

Ideally, you will have a background in geospatial analysis. In this role, you will be responsible for analysing and interpreting geospatial data, creating maps and visualisations, and providing technical support to other team members.

The position will work on various national programmes of work which feed into protecting our natural environment, like the Kauri Dieback project - protecting native trees, and the Wilding Pine and Wallaby Eradication programmes feeding into these with data collection, dashboards, analysis, reporting, and visualising data.

He pukenga tou - Skills & Experience : ArcGIS and desktop GIS (pro or QGIS) including analysis & interpretation, Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, Excellent communication and relationship building skills, Creating maps and visualisations to support project objectives, Provide technical support to other team members, Bonus point for experience in: Python, FME (feature manipulation Engine), Experience or exposure to conservation or biosecurity work, and a passion or interest in these, Engagement skills.
