The Role
As Geospatial Manager, you will lead the Forest Information Team, driving digital GIS innovation to empower Timberlands' operations. You'll oversee the development and management of geospatial applications, ensuring they remain robust, relevant, and accessible for their field teams. With your strategic vision, you'll guide the team in harnessing geospatial data to optimize forest management across their 200,000 hectares of assets.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Manage a team of six, fostering skill development and handling daily workflows to exceed client expectations.
GIS Development: Enhance Timberlands' GIS and related applications, including desktop, mobile, and web-based solutions, ensuring they remain best-in-class.
Data Stewardship: Oversee and maintain geospatial data and records, promoting seamless integration across systems.
Innovation: Lead digital initiatives that transform our forest information processes, embracing new technologies to drive operational excellence.
Ideal candidate
We are seeking a proven leader in the geospatial industry with a minimum of five years' experience in GIS, ideally with expertise in ESRI's suite (ArcGIS Desktop, Pro, Server). Your technical background, including knowledge in programming languages like Python and SQL, equips you to lead both development and operational functions. You excel in team-building and strategic thinking, and your familiarity with data warehousing and remote sensing is a plus.
