The role We are seeking a minerals-oriented geologist to undertake geological mapping, sampling, petrology, geochemistry, geochronology and interpretation of igneous rocks and igneous-hosted mineral deposits, primarily in onshore New Zealand.
This is a full time (38 hours per week) position based at our Dunedin site. The salary for this role is $85,500 to $112,000 depending on the successful candidate's skills and experience.
About You We are seeking someone who:
Is an earth scientist with experience in geological fieldwork applied to igneous rocksIs willing and able to undertake fieldworkHas a PhD in igneous geology/geochemistryWorks well in a teamHas computing skills that include ArcMap GIS or similar software, will be an advantage andHas good writing skills to contribute to scientific publications, papers or reports.Good mapping, mineralogical, petrography and geochemistry skills are required for this role. Additionally, specialist analytical knowledge of economic geology, isotopes, radiometric dating (e.g., U-Pb zircon dating) or mineral/rock chemistry will be an advantage.
