As an introduction, we provide care for a population of approximately 350,000 spread over the lower South Island of New Zealand.Our staff enjoy close relationships with the University of Otago, School of Medicine and Otago Polytechnic School of Nursing.We benefit from continuous professional development, involvement with medical and nursing student training, participation in research and many more opportunities arising from working in a combined clinical-academic environment. Currently we are a team of ten and there is equal participation in the after hour roster for weeknights and weekends, and at times you will be a second on-call on the roster. We are keen to hear from you if you are dual trained, and will support an approach to the relevant service to support your additional interest. A Fellowship with the RACP or an overseas equivalent is essential, as is eligibility for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
