Medical Secretary – Orthopaedics Service Dunedin Hospital Salary between $70,970 and $73,941 Permanent, Full time position (1.0FTE, 40 hours per week) Join a team of dedicated professionals Would consider job share Are you someone who thrives in a fast-paced work environment, and feels rewarded to know you're contributing to the health and wellbeing of out patients and community.If so, this role may be for you!Mo te turanga | About the role We are looking for a medical secretary to support the orthopaedic service based at Dunedin hospital.This is a role that will provide an opportunity to demonstrate varied workload, working to strict deadlines.It relies heavily on technology; therefore, you must be confident around computer systems with the ability to type accurately with high attention to detail.You must also be conscious of working with the utmost discretion as you'll be privy to patient information.As the Medical Secretary, you will provide administrative support for clinicians, as well as the management of patient activity.You will also ensure that the patient journey through the service is as stress free as possible and is efficient in time and resource for the department.The work required to be undertaken is fast paced and you will be working to strict deadlines Other Day to day tasks includes but are not limited to, setting up and maintaining effective electronic and paper filing systems and procedures, secretarial work for medical staff, medical transcription work and general administration such as sorting correspondence, liaising with external parties such as patients, GP's, private practices and other providers and medical transcription work.Mou ake | About you We are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with a variety of people and tasks, often all at the same time!Your background will be in varied administration positions that demonstrate your ability to provide high quality administration services within a busy office setting.To succeed in this role you will need to have: Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organisation.A flexible approach with the ability to successfully prioritise your workload Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.Excellent computer skills: proven experience in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook with the ability to learn other job specific programmes.Painga | Benefits Subsidised gym membership and discounted health insurance.Access to staff fitness facilities and banking offers Access to a range of retail discounts and Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).Mo matou | About us Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora - Southern has the largest geographical coverage of all the New Zealand regions, providing services to 350,000 people in diverse communities.We take pride in all the services we provide, and our aim is to improve, promote and protect the health of our region.We believe that our dedicated and passionate staff are a significant driving force behind the achievement of these standards, and we need more like-minded people to help us continue providing for our community.Utu whanui | Salary range This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the PSA South Island Cerical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and the salary will be in accordance with the National Health Administration Workers Pay Scale, Band 4A between Step 1 $70,970 and Step 3 $73,941 p.a pro rata dependant on relevant experience.Ra monehu |
