Wainui Golf and Function Centre is a relatively new golf course and event venue located 20 minutes north of Auckland CBD, in New Zealand. Role Purpose
The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and management of Wainui Golf & Function Centre. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong operational and financial acumen to drive the business towards its strategic goals and deliver exceptional experiences for members and guests.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:Develop and implement the strategic plan for Wainui Golf & Function Centre in alignment with the Board's vision.
Financial Management:Prepare and manage annual budgets and forecasts, monitor financial performance, and ensure the business operates within budget.
Operational Excellence:Oversee the day-to-day operations of the golf course, function centre and ancillary services, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services.
Sales and Marketing:Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to increase membership, restaurant, events and function bookings and overall revenue.
Team Leadership:Lead, develop, and motivate a high-performing team to achieve business objectives.
Member Experience:Foster a member-centric culture and deliver exceptional experiences to enhance member satisfaction and retention.
Compliance:Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and industry standards.
Relationship Management:Build and maintain strong relationships with members, staff, suppliers and other stakeholders.
Board Reporting:Provide regular reports to the Board on the financial performance, operational activities, and strategic initiatives of the club.

Skills and Experience:
Proven leadership and management experience in the golf, hospitality or leisure industry
Strong financial acumen and budgeting skills
Ability to develop and implement strategic plan
Strong understanding of the golf industry and its customer base
Proven ability to lead and develop teams
Strong customer service orientation
An understanding or experience with Auckland Council processes and procedures, particularly as it relates to resource consents, is preferable but not required
Experience with self-contained potable water and wastewater treatment systems would also be beneficial
