We are looking for a General Manager, Store Operations Manager to lead our team at Gilmours Central in Palmerston North.

The Role:
Create, drive, and deliver awesome customer experiences through processes and management of standards.
Oversee all the Operational teams at Gilmours Central with 130+ staff!
Grow the team performance by creating an awesome place to work and progress.
Advise on the branch's long-term strategy and then execute it on a day-to-day basis.

What are we looking for:
An ability to listen, advise, and come up with commercially savvy, customer-driven solutions.
Proven leadership capability you can demonstrate; with the mixed roles of the team, it's not always easy.
The ability to self-motivate and manage alongside the ability to balance multiple priorities.
Someone who is well-organized and structured, yet able to deal with the unknown and make tough decisions to get the job done.
Understand the commercial side of warehousing and grocery retailing and ultimately, think customer and team first!
Manage all Operational departments including Buying, Inwards Goods, Merchandising, Stock/Price Integrity, Chilled, Frozen Foods, Butchery, Liquor, Produce, Checkouts, Health & Safety, Customer Service, Pick Pack, Transport, and even its extended depot in Taranaki.
Staff recruitment, rostering, coaching, performance management, and disciplinary procedures.
Identify and improve department processes, planning, and best practices.
Lead the retail environment of our unique model and oversee the accurate completion and delivery of the hundreds of daily orders for our clients.
Your teams operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – a successful person in the position would gravitate to the hours where their team needs them most.
