We are seeking a dynamic General Manager Policy with a portfolio focused on Wellbeing, Natural Resources, Strategic Partnerships, and Public Policy leadership. You will lead strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the lives of iwi, hapu, and whanau across Aotearoa.About the role:As the General Manager, you will lead, develop, mentor, and support a results-driven team, ensuring delivery of the best possible advice. Managing four teams – Maori Public Policy, Maori Sector Partnerships, Te Pae Taiao, and Te Pae Tawhiti to bridge the gap between policy strategy and delivery. Your role will involve providing insightful policy advice to the Minister, Secretary for Maori Development, and Deputy Secretary ensuring voices of Maori are heard and prioritised in public policy.About you:You will be an innovative leader with confidence, have strong influencing skills, and be an expert in delivering policy.Confident to brief and influence senior leaders and Ministers on complex issues.Have a proven ability to manage and lead by example.You will need resilience, drive, and passion for the Kaupapa in your portfolio and beyond.Ideally, you will be Wellington-based to be on hand for your team and to ensure strong, responsive interagency relationships.What you will bring to the role:A proven track record in senior leadership or policy leadership.Significant experience working collaboratively with iwi, hapu, and whanau.Te Ao Maori focus and awareness.This is a challenging time for Maori Crown Relations, and you will need to show drive, resilience, and optimism to ensure the efforts of your team are heard and recognised.What's in it for you:Diverse and rewarding environment where you can make a difference.Competitive salary and benefits.Take action:Curious?
