Membership comprises players from the Wallabies, the NSW Waratahs, the Queensland Reds, Brumbies Rugby, the Melbourne Rebels, Western Force, the Australian Men's & Women's Rugby Sevens squads, the Wallaroos, and past professional players since 1996.RUPA's mission is to support its members to be better people, become better players, and better lives.The General Manager - Player Services is head of all player-facing RUPA services and is responsible for managing RUPA's administrative functions and day-to-day operations.The position will require strategic planning, relationship building with Rugby stakeholders, innovation, and superior communication & time management skills.Key Responsibilities:The General Manager is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with Rugby stakeholders including players, accredited agents, board directors, rugby body staff, and corporate partners.
Leadership of the player services function is achieved through:Financial responsibility and internal governanceCollective Bargaining and AdvocacyPlayer Administration including insurance, health and safetyManagement of player commercial rightsManagement of the Australian Rugby Agent Accreditation SchemeAbout YouThis is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation that protects, promotes and safeguards the rights of Rugby players.
To be successful in this position, you will have sound financial or legal qualifications, a high level of commercial acumen, along with first-class relationship and interpersonal skills.
A background in professional sport or working with athletes would be an advantage but is not essential.
