General/Business Unit Manager (CEO & General Management)Full timeSouth Link Health provides primary care to 140,000 enrolled patients across a network of 23 general practices between Tamaki Makaurau Auckland and Waihopai Invercargill. South Link Health is a not-for-profit organisation. Our share of practice profits goes back into our community by continuing to grow our health resources and services back where they are needed most. With 600 employees and annual turnover of $40 million p.a., it is a significant operation that is dynamic with high complexity.You will be an experienced, well-rounded, self-motivated General Manager - Operations responsible for the effective and efficient management of our 23 general practices.You will have strong leadership and organisational skills and be familiar with general practice in New Zealand and ensure our practice managers and internal support teams deliver financial sustainability while implementing best business and clinical practice.This is a Dunedin based role and reports to the Chief Executive. You will be part of the South Link senior management team, with direct reporting relationships to our practice/business managers.This newly created role is integral in linking South Link Health and our general practices with the key areas of focus for this role being:Operational Efficiency: Supporting the smooth functioning and management of our practices.Financial Management: Holding practices accountable for delivering budget targets, billing and debtor management to ensure the financial sustainability of the practice.Human Resources: Ensuring we maintain staffing levels in each practice at the desired levels and that all staff members are well managed with appropriate training and development.Clinical Best Practice: Working with the Clinical Governance Group and practice clinical staff to ensure a model of care delivers the best patient outcomes in each practice and staff are supported to work at the top of their scope to full capacity.Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring that the practice operates in compliance with relevant healthcare regulations, appropriate accreditation and in compliance with all health and safety requirements.Patient Experience: Fostering a positive patient experience, implementing quality improvement initiatives, and ensuring that patients receive high-quality care.Technology Integration: Overseeing the implementation and maintenance of technology systems, practice management software, and healthcare IT improvements to streamline processes and improve patient care.Strategic Planning: Collaborating with the South Link Health senior management team, practice management and senior clinical staff to develop and implement strategic plans for the group's growth and development.Skills/knowledge required to do this role:Proven experience (5+ years) in healthcare operations management, preferably in a multi-site setting with the focus on identifying and addressing user needs.Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance requirements, and quality improvement initiatives.Familiarity with healthcare technology systems.Proven success in leading and managing teams.Proficiency in budgeting, financial analysis, and performance metrics.Excellent verbal and written skills.Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Proven success in creating and maintaining a productive working environment by acting as a role model.Demonstrated understanding of risk management, and identification of emerging risks and ensuring risk mitigation action plans are developed and followed through.Candidates must have NZ residency or valid Work Visa.We are committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and that means people from all the communities we serve are being represented in our Kaimahi/Staff.
