About the role
Reporting to the Managing Director and based in their head office in Timaru, the General Manager is a key member of the group's senior leadership team and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the New Zealand business.

The current team is around 30 strong – you will lead and develop this talented team of professionals that includes design, mechanical and civil engineers, technicians, inspectors and support team.
Key responsibilities include:
Develop and implement the company's strategic plans and objectives in New Zealand, to achieve growth and profitability outcomes.
Lead and oversee effective operations, financial performance and development of the business, driving continuous improvement initiatives and efficiencies to enhance service delivery.
Provide clear leadership and continue to foster a positive team and high-performing culture through effective coaching and communication with the team.
Develop and nurture effective relationships with key clients, industry partners, and stakeholders.
Build on existing networks and partnerships with relevant associations and at industry events, to enhance business development opportunities.
About you
An innovative and commercial leader, you bring experience and capability leading high-performing teams. Your management experience within a relevant industry, along with your technical knowledge, gives you a sound understanding of both the practical and operational dynamics in this environment.

Tertiary qualified, business savvy and solutions-focused, you will continue to analyse operations and identify initiatives for continuous improvement. Your collaborative style allows you to engage with people at all levels, to build strong and positive relationships with stakeholders. An effective communicator, you can influence when it counts, to realise the full potential of your team and the organisation.
