Our national teams are playing at home more than ever before and our successes have provided more international presence than ever. Our local leagues, competitions and tournaments are getting bigger each year. Participation numbers are constantly rising, and more eyes are on our game. The Role: The purpose of the GM Marketing and Communications role is to develop and implement marketing and communication strategies, ensuring all marketing, communications and fan engagement activity contributes to deep and long lasting relationships with our participants and fans. This role is responsible for developing, delivering and communicating an integrated marketing strategy that leverages all mediums, and ensures all BBNZ's brands and products are positioned and communicated to achieve the organisation's objectives. Brand management is a key component of this role, ensuring consistency across all marketing materials and communications. Digital Marketing is vital across BBNZ activities, and this role will be responsible for developing and implementing a digital strategy, leading marketing initiatives and staying abreast of industry trends and innovative strategies to drive engagement and conversation. The GM Marketing and Communications will also oversee the communications function, ensuring a coordinated approach to all PR and communications activities. This role is an integral part of BBNZ's Senior Leadership team, reports to the Chief Operating Officer and has 2FTE direct reports, a Communications and Contents Lead and a Digital and Database lead role. Ideally this role will be based in Wellington, but for the right person we are flexible in considering other New Zealand based locations. An in-depth understanding of the Sports Industry 10+ years of experience in marketing and communications roles, with significant experience in a leadership position. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing strategies that drive business growth. Strong understanding of digital marketing channels and technologies, with hands-on experience in SEO/SEM, email marketing, and social media. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messaging for various audiences. Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams. Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to decision-making and problem-solving. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. Continuous learner with a hunger to adapt and evolve strategies and tactics to best achieve objectives. Experience with cultural & trend-based marketing.
