The General Manager Legal & Risk is a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
As a member of the SLT they support the Deputy Chief Executive by working collaboratively with other members to support the delivery of the strategic priorities set by the Priory Board (PB) and cascaded into functional objectives.The General Manager Legal & Risk incorporates the role of General Counsel with responsibility for the provision of senior independent legal advice to the organisation.As the lead for Legal & Risk they are responsible for:Legal managementGovernance arrangementsRisk & AssurancePrivacySenior Leadership Team Key OutcomesEngage and support, as a member of the SLT to the development and implementation of all of Hato Hone St John's strategic and business plans, providing specialist insight and functional perspective into the planning processes so as to create a sustainable and competitive advantage for the function and St John.Provide positive leadership to all people across the functional area; build a supportive, fair and open culture that supports high performance and growth mindset, positive engagement, and encourages and enables people to be the best they can.Exemplify and promote the St John vision, values and organisational goals in all relationships and interactions with stakeholders.
Ensure that management processes are open and transparent, encourage the confidence of our people, communities, and other agencies, and promote a positive organisational/ functional image.Ensure that tikanga Maori principles are applied to strategic thinking and delivery so as to support a demonstrable focus on health equity and quality improvement for Hauora Maori; reduce racism and discrimination and promoting cultural safety and competence; and actively look for opportunities to develop an effective Tiriti/Treaty based lens to service delivery and inclusion.QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will have:Law degreeCurrent Practicing certificateApprox.
