We are looking for a Village Manager to lead our iconic high-end and large-scale independent living community in the sunny Hawkes Bay.
The tranquil and friendly Mary Doyle village is located in a garden estate alongside the pretty Karamu stream in Havelock North, a mere 15-minute walk to the town centre and within sight of Te Mata Peak.
Mary Doyle is a very large village with a full range of offerings, from independent living villas and apartments to serviced apartments and rest home care, to a large-scale care hospital and dementia facility. We have recently appointed a Clinical Care Manager who will be an important ally to the Village Manager.
Supported by a newly implemented regional management structure across the Arvida business, you will oversee the ongoing success of Mary Doyle including business planning and execution, team development, resident wellness, sales, maintenance, and overall performance. In Arvida, Village Managers are given "freedom with in a framework" to make decisions relevant to their location.

Your commercial acumen and strong leadership skills must be exemplary and match the scale of the Mary Doyle operation. You will be adept at multi-tasking and thoroughly professional, leading from the front and driving staff to perform via a culture of inclusion and excellence. You will be highly visible to residents and staff alike and enjoy the daily interactions that nourish a thriving community.
You will demonstrate:
At least 5 years' experience in a similar role (senior living or healthcare experience preferred).Experience in leading, coaching and developing people - and fostering a values-led culture.Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to deliver operational goals. An ability to foster a professional working relationship with residents and ensure Arvida's reputation is enhanced in the local community.Knowledge and experience with commercial agreements, and sales and property management principles.Understanding and application of relevant legislation.Good knowledge of health and safety management and safe working practices.
