Our mission is to enrich the lives of people with disabilities by providing meaningful employment and personal development opportunities through operating a successful and environmentally aware business.We are currently looking for a General Manager to oversee daily operations and the strategic direction of the organisation, ensuring all aspects of the business's mission, operations, and financial management align with our values and objectives.The General Manager position reports to a Board of Directors, who in turn are appointed by the Southland disAbility Enterprises Charitable Trust.About the RoleThe General Manager role requires someone with strong people management skills, proven leadership experience, a passion for working with people with disabilities, and an aptitude for manufacturing and mechanical processes.Collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure the continued provision of meaningful employment for our people is a significant part of the role, as is working with our generous community funders.
In addition, the General Manager will oversee the Finance, Human Resources and Health & Safety functions, ensuring financial transparency and legislative compliance, and collaborate with our external accountants and auditors.Key Responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to) the following:Ensuring the health and safety of all employees and visitors to the workplaceAssisting with the development of and managing the strategic planSetting and managing KPIs for all areas of the businessBudgeting, forecasting and reporting to the Board of DirectorsReviewing existing contracts and developing new businessSourcing recyclable products and identifying markets for all productsManaging the organisation's assetsManaging the organisation's riskContinuously improving our systems, policies and processesAbout YouYou'll have a relevant qualification, i.e.
in business management, and experience in a social services role at a senior level.
