We are excited to recruit for a General Manager on behalf of DCGroup.About DCGroupDCGroup is a management company, with a small team of project management, accounting, and administrative professionals. DCGroup manages the operations and development of Port Nikau, Whangarei's transformational, waterfront, urban-designed community, and other land development projects in Whangarei. DCGroup also manages commercial property development, commercial property leases, residential property development and marine activities for its client base.About the roleThis newly created General Manager role will report to Directors and provide leadership in delivering strategic outcomes set by the Directors.Responsibilities include formulating overall strategy, managing people (internal and external contractors) and establishing policies and procedures.As a key member of a small team, the General Manager's primary focus will be supporting the implementation and delivery of the Port Nikau Development Plan with financial and commercial decisions.The General Manager will also manage day-to-day operational systems and processes such as management information systems, accounts and administration, HR processes, Health, Safety and Environment, marketing, and communications.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy, Planning and Risk: Supporting and implementing strategies determined by the Directors with sound financial advice, risk management and forward thinking. Provide Directors with evaluation of opportunities. Understand district planning and resource consenting processes.Financial Leadership: Manage the budget and cashflow for operations and projects across several entities. Be future focused to ensure funding streams match project delivery. Provide high level structure and taxation advice to Directors. Oversee annual accounts and monthly reporting processes.Operations: Leading day to day operations of DCGroup to ensure a positive and high performing team are supported with best practice HR, HSE, IT, administration, and other processes.Communication, Sales, and Marketing: Manage external communications and marketing processes. Prepare consultation documents.Property Transactions: Manage the legal and financial processes required for land transactions such as subdivision, sales, purchases.Commercial Property Leases: Build professional relationships with tenants. Oversee new leases, rent reviews, valuations.About youOur preferred candidate will:Be a thoughtful leader, commercially savvy, a problem solver and confident decision-maker.Have a strong technical accounting and finance background from at least 5 years in accounting or audit in an organisation with significant reporting requirements.Be up to date with NZ company and trust taxation.Have previous experience in a commercial role(s) such as property management and/or land development.Be flexible, inquisitive, and able to apply good business sense and best practice to new initiatives.Enjoy driving improvements and efficiencies and look for opportunities to support the Project Team with better systems and processes.Enjoy commercial negotiations and form professional relationships with others.Understand the workings of a corporate organisation but be willing to work in a small team with a hands-on and can-do culture.Be confident to present proposals with options to support strategic decision making by the board.Have a high level of documentation skills and attention to detail.Be passionate about making Northland the best place it can be to live.On offer is a highly competitive salary, based on the successful candidate's relevant industry experience, qualifications, and skills.
