General Manager Human Resources About the Organisation The Electrical Training Company Etco is recognised by industry and many government agencies as having the leading group apprentice employment and training scheme in New Zealand They employ 700 electrical apprentices and have more than 3 500 graduates over the past 28 years many of whom have won awards and gone on to establish exciting and rewarding careers in the industry Etco also provides offjob academic training for almost 1 500 apprentices not employed by them In total they provide all the offjob training for approximately 50 of all electrical apprentices throughout New Zealand Their Northern Region comprises the largest part of their business About the Role As GM Human Resources you will be responsible for Engaging and influencing key internal and external stakeholders across the business Developing and tying together a people development strategy Devolving HR functions across the organisation Working with a capable team to develop and implement a strategic program of H S as seen through the lens of wellbeing Collaborating to achieve commercial outcomes Your support will come from internal OD and ER resource and from the executive team The role comes with a fulluse car laptop phone five weeks annual leave and a Southern Cross medical care package About the Culture Over the past 18 months Etco has been through the most exciting and significant changes the business has faced in 28 years They are encouraged by the changes happening in the New Zealand vocational training arena and will need to be flexible and creative over the next couple of years to capitalise on the opportunities that are emerging As this unfolds there will be opportunities for innovation and growth throughout the business are you ready to lead that About You We are looking from expressions of interest from experienced HR leaders who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of young people In particular we are looking for evidence of Achievements in engaging and influencing stakeholders Leadership in HR and H S disciplines Strategic commercially oriented thinking and dissemination Servant leadership traits including a willingness to be handson If you are passionate about teams creating efficiency want to make this role your own and you have a strong sense of what it takes to foster a culture of caring for wellbeing and safety and health then we should talk Call David Ireland on 09 917 0130 or click on the Apply Now button
